Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Patuxent River has a requirement for the development of a ballistic protection system (BPS) for both the CH-53D and the MH-53E. This is a notice of intent to request a proposal and negotiate with Protective Materials Company (PMC) of 14040 NW 58th Court, Miami Lakes, Florida 33014 on an other than full and open competitive basis. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with PMC to design and develop non-ballistic prototype armor kits to ensure fit and usability on CH-53D and MH-53E helicopters. The kits will be returned to and retained by PMC for the purpose of establishing fixtures for future qualification/production of the H-53 BPS. The proposed action will be a Firm Fixed Price modification to Contract N00421-03-C-0082. The estimated period of performance for this effort is 6 months after date of award. Contract modification award is anticipated to be 2 months after synopsis date. SEE NOTE 22.
