- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard is setting aside this acquisition for Small Business concerns. The Coast Guard intends to conduct this procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The simplified acquisition will be evaluated using past performance and price. The NAICS Code is 336611 and the SIC is 3731. The performance period will be forty-two (42) calendar days with a start date on or about June 20, 2005. The acquisition is for Dock Side Repairs to the USCGC BARBARA MABRITY (WLM-559), a 175 Foot Coastal Buoy Tender, at their homeport, Mobile, Alabama. The simplified acquisition solicitation will be issued as a best value Request for Quotes (RFQ), on or about April 29, 2005, with quotes due on May 13, 2005. The RFQ will be issued via the Federal Business Opportunities (FEDBIZOPS) web page www.eps.gov. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. The scope of the acquisition is for the Dock Side Repairs to the USCGC BARBARA MABRITY (WLM-559). Provide all labor, material, and equipment necessary to perform dockside repairs including but not limited to the following: Clean And Inspect Heat Exchangers; Renew Valves; Overhaul Mechanical Chain Stoppers; Preserve Buoy Deck; Perform Infared Thermographic Survey; Install Eyewash Stations; Modify High Pressure Washer piping; Clean, Inspect and Test Switchboard Circuit Breakers; Composite Labor; GFP report in accordance with solicitation and Travel and Per Diem. Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. Funds are available for this procurement. Drawings are available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request not later than three (3) days from solicitation issuance. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF,etc) Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. This procurement is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. All responsible sources may submit a quote, which shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard.
