Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subparts 12.6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, and a written solicitation will not be issued. This announcement incorporates commercial item provisions and clauses in affect through Federal Acquisition Circular 01-24. The North American Industrial Classification System code is 339112, Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing. The Government intends to award an emergent Firm Fixed Price purchase order under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), to Micro Direct Inc, for their Micro Diary Spirometers with software. This is in regard to our purchase of spirometers for research studies. The following is a list of new features required for this equipment: ?Portable ?Used at home ?Allows input of questions into the system that patient answer on a daily basis. ?Provides not only spirometry measurements, but also daily symptom measurements. ?Records pulmonary function and daily symptoms. ?Daily symptom measurement is integral part in proposed research funded by a Merit Review ?Electronic record and cannot be changed, each entry is recorded and this affords better control and the acquisition of daily data. ?Fulfill the American Thoracic Society criteria of quality ?Simplicity of use is an advantage in that many patients are elderly and not very familiar with electronic equipment.
