Description
CONTACT Barbara Johns,Logistics Management Specialist,732-532-3032. Title: Replacement of PAMS subsystem of the GUARDRAIL Common Sensor System CECOM/ GUADRAIL weapon system teams plans to enter into an agreement for replacement of the Programmable Adaptable Modules (PAM) subsystem that is used on the GUARDRAIL Common Sensor System. The ultimate goal of this market research would be a contract for development of a replacement for this system. The current subsystem has numerous vanishing vendor issues and a high sustainment cost. The contract would also provide for follow on to procure the replacement and for a limited sustainment contract. The su stainment of this new system should be designed for contractor sustainment in the short term with a plan to transition support to an organic source of repair. Anyone interested in providing a response should outline their experience with the current techno logy and have some suggested plan for replacement. Note that responses that are general in nature and show only your knowledge of general electronic research will not be considered a valid response. Responses must address an approach to solving this spec ific sustainment issue. The equipments that is being considered in this market research are as follows: Limited drawings are available on request for review by potential respondents. Audio Management System PAM and Special Signals PAM 1. Audio Management System (AMS) Processor a. Nomenclature: CP-2171/TSQ-176, NSN 5895-01-365-8783 b. Purpose: The AMS processor CP-2171/TSQ-176 provides audio recording, playback, and archiving capabilities for the Information Processing Center (IPF), AN/TSQ-176 subsystem, which is a tactical intercept and emitter location system with facilities for re porting messages to tactical commanders in the field. The primary purpose of the AMS processor is to record and play back intercept audio, as well as to provide capabilities that support the recording of voice annotations, and the association of these anno tations and any technical data obtained, with the audio intercepts. The AMS processor also provides data base capabilities that allow the display and selection of audio subsets as well as associated data for analysis and management purposes. c. Parts List: The current AMS PAM consists of the following components: Ref Des Nomenclature Qty Part Number CAGE None Chassis, Rack Mount 1 370-480001-00 30331 A1 System Processor Unit CCA 1 106-00042-00-0 30331 A1A1 32-MB RAM CCA 106-00022-00-0 30331 A2 SCSI Controller/Processor/ Ethernet Secondary Processor CCA 1 106-00023-00-3 30331 A3 40 Mbyte Memory Expansion CCA 1 106-00035-01-0 30331 A4 Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) CCA 1 722-00021-03-0 30331 A5, A6 Intelligent Peripheral Interface (IP) Drive Controller CCA 2 36-186846-1 30331 A7 Optical Drive Controller CCA 1 722-00021-03-0 30331 A8 Fiber Distribution Data Interface (FDDI) CCA 1 36-186844-1 30331 A9 Fiber Distribution Data Interface (FDDI) CCA 1 36-186844-4 30331 A51 150-MB Tape Drive 1 TD-150S 30331 A50 300-MB Hard Disk 1 721-33000-00-0 30331 1. Special Signal Data Processor (SSP) a. Nomenclature: CP-2169/TSQ-176, NSN 5895-01-370-1421 b. Purpose: The SSP provides a local area network (LAN) to non-LAN interface as well as various input/output (I/O) capabilities. The SSP has connectivity to the IPF through two fiber-optic Fiber Distributed Data Interface (FDDI) LANs; one for digital audi o and one for control and status. Using this connectivity, the SSP processes data associated with narrow band performance signal processing equipment. The SSP provides a capability to accept compacted digital audio signals from the data link processor and distribute them within the IPF. The SSP provides the capability to distribute audio to equipment for signal classification and return the classification for analysis. c. Parts List: The current AMS PAM consists of the following components: Ref Des Nomenclature Qty Part Nu mber CAGE None Chassis, Rack Mount 1 370-480001-00 30331 A1 System Processor Unit CCA 1 106-00042-00-0 30331 A1A1 16-MB RAM CCA 106-00022-01-0 30331 A2 Secondary Processor CCA 1 106-00023-00-2 30331 A3 Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) CCA 1 722-00021-03-0 30331 A4, A5 Fiber Distribution Data Interface (FDDI) CCA 2 36-186844-1, -4 30331 A6 IEEE-488 Controller CCA 1 36-186845-1 30331 A7 - A10 Audio Interface CCA 4 68-181803-1 28815 A51 150-MB Tape Drive 1 TD-150S 30331 A50 300-MB Hard Disk 1 721-33000-00-0 30331 All interested parties considering submission in support of this request support should submit a white paper no greater than 10 pages in length and should include at a minimum the following information: 1) Provide evidence of the contractors facilities and experience with type of equipment and technology. Again note that responses that address only a general knowledge of work with electronic equipment will not be considered. 2) Provide evidence of past performance on similar projects in support of the requested work. This documentation may be mailed to US Army, Commander CECOM, AMSEL-LC-IEWS-R-GR, Building 1201W, Fort, Monmouth, NJ 07703-5211 to the attention of Barbara Johns.
