Description

The US Geological Survey needs to have a new fiberglass recorder housing (Western Power Products pad-mounted Powerglass enclosure, model 60-1), which will be supplied by the USGS, installed at the toe of the Anderson Dam near Morgan Hill, CA. AC power and a telephone will need to be brought to the new location and buried in conduit provided by the contractor, who will also have to provide all wires, meters, housings and outlets, as well as a 4-plex AC outlet and RJ-11 telephone jack inside the housing. There is a power pole (#1406) within 100 meters of the location - the contractor will have to decide how to best get power and telephone service to the housing. The contractor will be required to pour a 4' x 4' x 6" concrete pad to support the new housing at the toe of the dam - there is currently a small concrete pad with a small fiberglass enclosure at the location. Performance of this work will be conditional on the contractor obtaining a permit from the Santa Clara Valley Water District, who will have to approve the plan for the work before issuing the permit. The work will need to be accomplished before October 31, 2005. A site visit will be scheduled and relevant information will be supplied in the solicitation. Parties who feel they can accomplish this work are invited to request the solictation document by contacting the contracting officer by fax or e-mail (916-278-9339; rdonez@usgs.gov), submitting contact information and requesting to be put on the source list for the solicitation when it is released (approximately 01 May 2005). Phone requests will not be honored.This requirement will be 100% set-aside for small business. Estimated price range for this work will be less than $25,000.This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement.
