Description

The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with GE-ZENITH CONTROLS, INDUSTRIAL SYSTEMS, of WESTMONT IL, to perform an upgrade of the existing Zenith Energy Commander, Emergency Generator Synchronization and Paralleling Equipment, used to control four (4) parallel 500kw Cummings Diesel Generators. This equipment is located at the Information Technology Center, Building #215, on the Edward Hines Jr., VA Hospital Campus, Hines Illinois. This procurement is being conducted in accordance FAR 6.302 - only one responsible source and no other vendor will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS 811310. To the best of our knowledge, GE-Zenith Controls, Industrial Systems, of Westmont, Illinois is the only vendor that can provide the required services and the proprietary hardware/software upgrades necessary to maintain the system. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within fourteen (10) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Building 5, 5000 W. National Ave. Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with GE-ZENITH CONTROLS, INDUSTRIAL SYSTEMS, of WESTMONT IL.
