- US ARMY RDECOM-ARDEC is conducting Market Research for commercial off-the- shelf items or systems that will allow the Acoustic Center of Excellence to build a command/control and communications architecture using networked COTS hardware/software products. This system and its ability to allow connections to sensors and control interfaces will support a wide range of potential demonstration configurations and be used to advance networked sensors functionality and performance through improved data sharing, data fusion, and command/control. This effort is to perform key hardware/software demonstrations to support the Layered Defense System (LDS) initiative for Homeland Security. The objectives of this program are to purchase a flexible COTS communications command/control architecture with specific modifications to support test, evaluation, and demonstration of networked sensors. Interested firms should submit literature/brochures not exceeding twenty (20) pages describing their technical capabilities and specifically address the requirements listed above in response to the aforementioned criteria. This is a market survey not a pre- solicitation notice. There is no formal solicitation available at this time. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey.
