- Description
- Following are answers to questions submitted by potential offerors. 1. What is the number of UGVs that fall within the scope of this solicitation? There is no minimum or maximum number of systems. The Software solution will have the flexibility to expand as required. 2. Will all UGV Program Spare/Replacement parts be warehoused at a common location or multiple staging/distribution points (i.e DLA, Army activity, or Original Equipment Manufacturer)? The parts will be located at various locations worl d wide. 3. Who are the authorized Maintenance Repair activities that will be performing maintenance on the UGV fleet? The 3 JPO sites. 4. What component of the UGV Program will be subjected to serial number tracking? Vehicle Identification Number and/or in dividual component parts. Robotic serial number. 5. If serial number tracking is required for individual component parts, in the event of a component part failure that requires removal of that component for maintenance, once repaired will that component be required to be reinstalled on the original vehic le unless the part is determined to be un serviceable? No. 6. At any time will SARSS/ULLS-G be used to request, receive and return materials? No. 7. Is there authorized funding for worker travel to/from Redstone Arsenal in support of this work? Offerors should propose any associated travel in accordance with SOW. 8. Can it be assumed that all work associated with this solicitation will be performed at Redstone Arsenal? Will work associated with this solicitation be performed abroad? The contractor shall provide user training at the Robotic Systems Joint Project Off ice, Redstone Arsenal, AL. The contractor is also to provide software plus 1 year of support (updates and helpdesk). This means that the solution (hardware and/or software) will be delivered and installed, and, for 1 yr following -the contractor must prov ide any software updates plus associated help desk services. As such, everything could be done at the contractor's location with the exception of training and any necessary visits required due to updates and helpdesk activities. 9. Will individuals workin g on this project require a security clearance? Yes. 10. What is the solicitation approved contracting vehicle? Firm-fixed-price purchase order. 11. Request for rephrasing of NMCI requirement. The requirement to be certified to operate on the Navy Marine Corps Internet (NMCI) system at the time of prop osal submission is changed to read - Offerors must be able to meet the requirements to be certified for the NMCI at the time of proposal submission. The successful offeror must submit a request to be certified for the NMCI within two (2) working days afte r contract award. 12. What technologies and software expertise are required to operate on the Navy Marine Corps Internet System? What are related certifications requirements and associated reference source? Refer to SOW and any amendments to solicitation . The solicitation closing date remains 4/29/2005.
