Description

This is a pre-solicitation notice for a Request for Quotation for a contractor to provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, supervision and transportation to perform exterior painting at the main house of the James A. Garfield National Historic Site in Mentor, Ohio. The work consists of painting all exterior surfaces (approximately 16,710 sq.ft.) of the James A. Garfield House exterior and roof (all exterior surfaces, i.e. siding, windows, shutters, doors, porch, railings, ornate fabric, box cornices, and associated trim). Work consists of full surface prep, clean surfaces, one application of spot primer on bare wood, and two applications of finish paint to all areas to be painted. Window re-glazing and painting consists of full surface prep, clean surfaces, remove failed window glazing, prime bare sash, re-glaze windows, prime glazing, spot prime bare wood on sash, and two applications of finish paint. The NAICS code is 238320. The small business size standard is $12.0 million. The estimated price range of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Project performance time will be 90 days after issuance of the notice to proceed. This project is being solicited and awarded in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, Public Law 100-656. Accordingly, it is open to both small and large businesses. The solicitation with specifications, wage rates, and house photos will be posted to the websites, http://www.fedbizopps.gov and http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about May 10, 2005. No hard copies of the solicitation will be mailed or issued. To receive the Request for Quotation package you must download it from http://ideasec.nbc.gov.
