- Sources Sought Announcement for low-cost Meteorological Sensors. Sources Sought Product Manager Target Identification and Meteorological Sensors (PM TIMS) is seeking interested sources for providing low-cost meteorological sensors that may satisfy Army current and future force requirements. The purpose of this announ cement is to survey the availability of current technology to improve capability and reduce costs for the AN/TMQ-52 Meteorological Measuring Set Profiler. This announcement is to gather information only but may be used to shape future technology investm ent. PM TIMS is seeking radiosonde systems that reach 30km Above Ground Level (AGL) in altitude. Radiosonde systems must either be Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM) compliant, or have a path to SAASM compliance. PM TIMS is also seeking portable sensors that reach a minimum altitude of 5km AGL, and that provide near-real-time updates for any or all of the following measurements: wind speed, wind direction, temperature, pressure, and humidity. This announcement is issued in accordance with the requirements of Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 10 to determine the applicability of FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. Interested respondents should submit white papers that include cost, performance specifications, and size, weight, and power specifications. White papers submitted will not be returned to respondents and may be shared within and among other Government org anizations outside the Department of Defense. Respondents are cautioned not to include any company proprietary information as part of their white paper submissions.
