Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The award of this project will be based on best value and other factors conside red. The awardee of this contract must be located within a 100 mile radius of Grand Rivers, Kentucky. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional i nformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is W912P5-05-T-0003 and is being issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 01-15. This procurement shall be a Small Business set aside. The NAICS Code is 332710. (SEE ATTACHED SPECIFICATIONS AND D RAWING) The speed reducers to be overhauled are located at Kentucky Lock, 265 KY Lock Road, Grand Rivers, Kentucky 42045. The awardee of this contract must be located within a 100 mile radius of Grand Rivers, Kentucky. This is due to the amount of travel it wil l take the Government to make the numerous inspections required on the gear box and the added expense for shipment; each gearbox weighs approx 15 tons, Award will not be made to a company outside this radius. The contractor shall complete all work withi n 90 calendar days after the date machinery is received. The provision at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to OfferorsCommercial Items, applies to this solicitation. The offeror shall include a completed copy of the provision at FAR52.212-3, Offeror Representations and CertificationsCommercial Items, and include DFA RS 252.204-6, Required Central Contractor Registration. Contractors must be registered in the DODs Central Contract Register at http://www.ccr.gov before award as required by DFARS 204.7300. The clause at FAR 52.214-4, Contract Terms and ConditionsComm ercial Items applies to this solicitation. In addition, the clause at 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive OrdersCommercial Items applies to this solicitation, as do the following additional FAR clauses cited in this clause: 52.222-26 Equal Opportunity (E.O. 11246); 52.232-33 Payment by the Electronic Transfer Central Contractor Registration (31 U.S.C. 3332).
