Description
SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE OTA DIRECTOR The Department of the Treasury (Treasury), through its Office of Technical Assistance (OTA), provides comprehensive technical assistance to select countries that are of strategic foreign policy importance to the U.S. Government (USG). Most of these countries are in the process of development or transformation. Others have suffered severe deterioration of their financial institutions as a result of war, civil strife, or prolonged neglect and require serious reform. OTA services cover a range of public financial management technical assistance focusing on five core disciplines: budget policy and management, financial enforcement, financial institutions policy and regulation, government debt issuance and management, and tax policy and administration. The Special Assistant to the OTA Director will provide senior-level policy and management support to the OTA Director in support of economic reform projects across the five functional disciplines. This position entails regular interaction with senior policy makers in the USG and international financial institutions, as well as with senior government officials from countries receiving OTA assistance. The position is located in Washington, D.C., and will require some international travel in support of OTA?s mission. The ideal candidate will hold a master?s degree in international affairs, economics or business administration (or other relevant subject matter); a minimum 5 to 15 years of work experience, preferably in USG foreign assistance; project management experience; overseas experience; computer skills and excellent written and oral communication skills. The candidate must be adept at multi-tasking and able to operate under very tight deadlines. The candidate will need to have a security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required. SALARY: In accordance with program regulations and based on demonstrated salary history, starting salaries are negotiable from $88,369 to $114,882.
