Description

The Federal Bureau of Investigation intends to negotiate a sole-source, firm-fixed price contract under commercial item acquisition procedures with Maufacturing Research, 1840 Baldwin Street, Suite #10, Rockledge, FL 32955, under Request for Quote(RFQ) 0196504. This notice will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration?s Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) web site www.fedbizopps.gov. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Manufacturing Research, is to provide the following items: 1) (9-223) 9mm Blank Ammunition ? (100 cases) and 2) .38 Caliber Revolver Blank Ammunition ? (40 cases). Based on market research conducted using the results of previous purchases for similar products, catalogues, the World Wide Web, and contacts made with knowledgeable individuals in Government and the related industry, it has been determined the FBI?s requirement for the above-listed items can only be provided by Manufacturing Research as they are the manufacturer and sole distributor of the required ammunition. The known ammunition requirement must be compatible with presently acquired weapons and Manufacturing Research is the only known vendor who meets this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit quotes to this office by 2:00 PM, EST, Thursday, May 12, 2005, via facsimile to the attention of Ms. Renee L. Braun, Contracting Officer, at (703) 632-1473. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The North American Industrial Classification System number is 332992 and the size standard is 1000 employees. This contract will be awarded as a commercial item in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Parts 12 and 13.5.
