Description
This announcement is a request for information. The Space Radar (SR) Joint Program Office (JPO) (formally the Space-based Radar [SBR] JPO) is currently in the Key Decision Point (KDP)-A acquisition phase or concept development phase. This is a sources sought notice to locate qualified sources of first-party vendors capable of providing space qualified (or qualifiable) Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) batteries for possible testing evaluation. The NAICS code is 335912 (1000 employees). The intended vehicle is a Low Earth Orbit satellite. The SR JPO intends to initiate a Foreign Comparative Test (FCT) to determine viable Li-Ion technologies. Vendors are encouraged to provide: (1) Company Name, address and contact information (2) Contractor’s capabilities assessment (3) Existing operational satellites or future satellite contracts utilizing Li-Ion battery technologies (4) Future space qualified Li-Ion battery development efforts (5) Space qualified Li-Ion battery Performance/Characteristics/Specifications (6) Estimated delivery time (7) Available cost estimating methodology(ies) (8) Potential purchase or acquisition strategies. The NAICS code for this effort isRespondents are requested to limit the responses to no more than three pages. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. However, SR JPO may utilize the information for technical, acquisition planning and testing proposals. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement and any follow-up information. All data received in response to this Source Sought Notice marked or designated, as corporate or proprietary information will be fully protected from release outside of the United States Government. It is recognized that cost information, if provided by the contractor, is a preliminary estimate for planning purposes; the contractor will not be bound to these estimates. The requested information is for planning purposes and does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that a procurement action will be issued. Subsequent acquisitions may follow in a manner that best meet the SR JPO needs. NOTE: THIS NOTICE MAY HAVE POSTED ON WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (24-MAR-2005).
