Description

The National Park Service intends to issue a Prospectus for the operation of the El Portal Gas Station within the El Portal Administrative Area managed by Yosemite National Park. This business opportunity includes the use of a government-owned fuel storage and dispensing system located at the site. An Offeror selected as the new concessioner is not obliged to purchase the personal property and inventory utilized by the existing concessioner in its operations. The existing concession contract between the National Park Service and the existing concession has expired. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51, has determined that the existing concessioner is not a preferred Offeror for this contract because the previous contract was issued on a temporary, sole source basis. One contract will be issued for this commercial service. The length of the new contract will be for three and a half (3 1/2) years. The Prospectus will be issued May 10, 2005, for a 70-day response period under the terms described in the Prospectus, with proposals due on July 20, 2005, no later than 4:00 p.m. Any offer, including that of the existing concessioner, must be received by the Concessions Program Manager, National Park Service, Pacific West Region, 1111 Jackson Street, Suite 700, Oakland, CA 94607 by this date in order to be evaluated and considered for an award of the concession contract. There is a printing cost recovery charge of $50 per copy to be delivered via Federal Express or $40 per copy if picked up in person. Checks or money orders (no cash accepted) must be payable to the National Park Service; and you must include a business address (no post office box) with telelphone number to receive a Federal Express package.
