Description

This is a PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: The USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), intends to acquire construction services for our facility at the National Veterinary Services Laboratory (NVSL), Ames, IA. This requirement is for the renovation of existing basement space per contract documents due to the relocation of Information Technology (IT) administrative offices to the West Wing Basement area of the main administration building. This requirement is part of an extensive modernization program at the Ames, Iowa location. The following information will be furnished to potential offerors: (1) drawings of the proposed construction and (2) specifications. The contractor shall furnish all plant, labor, equipment, and materials necessary to accomplish the work referenced above and other general construction in accordance with the statement of work, specifications and drawings. It is anticipated that a single award will be made. All effort shall be completed within approximately seven months (208 calendar days) after award and the issuance of the notice to proceed. This is a full and open procurement which is to be awarded as a fixed price contract. The estimated price range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The solicitation, #APHIS-05-031, is to be affixed to all documents submitted in reference to this requirement. It is anticipated that the solicitation, APHIS-05-031, is to be released on or about May 19, 2005 and proposals will be due thirty (30) days after the release of the solicitation. Telephone requests will not be accepted. Paper copies of the RFP and/or amendments will not be issued. The solicitation and any attachments and/or amendments will be made available electronically at the following website address (www.fedbizopps.gov). The specifics for availability of the specifications and drawings will be reflected in the posted solicitation (request for proposals) which is anticipated to be released on or about May 19, 2005. The offeror must submit a street mailing address with a point of contact and phone/fax numbers and an email address (if available). All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered. Proposals will be due no later than 4:30 p.m. local time on June 20, 2005.
