Description

The Department of the Interior (DOI) National Business Center (NBC) has a requirement to establish an enterprise-wide contract vehicle to acquire cost-effective nationwide commercial wireless services with management capabilities. Specifically, to minimize total-cost-of-ownership (TCO) related to DOI's use of commercial mobile wireless services. This includes recurring and non-recurring costs associated with monthly services, purchase and maintenance of equipment, end user support, routine administrative processes, and enterprise management. The scope of this contract is to support Department-wide requirements. DOI may allow the use of contract(s) issued, as a result of this solicitation, by other agencies such as USDA and Tribal governments. It is contemplated that award(s) resulting from this solicitation will be of an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) firm-fixed price contract type. It is also possible that multiple awards will be made under this Solicitation. The Base Period will be two years from contract start date with three 1-year Option Periods available. In order to minimize risks and address traditional challenges Offerors must meet, maintain, and periodically evaluate program objectives. These objectives include; but are not limited to, nationwide coverage and service continuity; increased service levels for end user support; management tools and reports; up-to-date technologies and equipment; highly competitive pricing and flexible rate plans; as well as maximization of commercially available rebates and incentives. Anticipated release of the above referenced Solicitation is expected on or about Wednesday, May 18, 2005; with a tentative Solicitation closing date of June 17, 2005.
