Description
The U.S. General Services Administration?s Federal Technology Service intends to issue a contract to Icon Systems Inc. under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, FAR 12 and 13.5 through reference number 4THO21057209. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 05-03 under NAICS 335999. Only one responsible source and no other services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is for the Modification of 216 ICON Vests The requirements to modify 216 tactical engagement vests worn by soldiers that are currently on hand at the Soldier Battle Lab Ft. Benning GA are as follows: Description: The contractor is required to modify the RS 232 communications connector in order to accept and operate with commercial Blue Tooth communications devices available today. The BT adapter is a standard commercial off the shelf products using industry standard software protocols and DB 9 connector physical interface. The contractor is to modify the existing vest?s communications port to electrically interface with the BT device. Additionally the contractor will develop software protocols that will produce RS 232 communications signals from the vest through the BT adapter to a remote paired BT device connected to a communication processor. Contractor will Provide physical interconnections between ICON vest and BT adapter (Promi BT or equal) Develop software and electrical interface for signal communications and compatibility with BT adapter. Test modifications on each vest Return vest to Soldier Battle Lab McKenna Range Ft. Benning Ga. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302, FAR 12 and 13.5. This request is not a notice for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. All information should be submitted via email to Ms. Kristen L. Eaves at kristen.eaves@gsa.gov. Responses must be submitted by COB May 09, 2005. All information submitted on or before this date will be considered by the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement.
