Description
The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is conducting market research for the capability to move personnel and their associated gear from an offshore location, through the surf zone, and to a target location on land using a single vehicle. USSOCOM intends to apply for approval of a Foreign Comparative Testing (FCT) project https://cto.acqcenter.com/dac/bids.nsf) to evaluate candidate items. USSOCOM is interested in evaluating vehicles from vendors that currently posses a ?proof of concept? vehicle or have an amphibious vehicle in production. Speed in excess of 20 knots in the water and 10 mph on land is desired. The vehicle should be approximately 10 feet long, 5 feet wide, and 5 feet tall in its highest configuration. It is necessary that the transition between marine and terrain modes not require the personnel to exit the vehicle. Acceptable modifications to an existing vehicle would be those required to allow the craft to operate as an operational military vehicle. Responses to this RFI are requested by 18 May 2005. Responses must include a product description with performance parameters and a statement regarding current availability, summary of prior testing, production capability and an estimated cost for the price of the initial vehicle to be tested and production units. Please provide name of firm, address, POC, phone/fax number, and email address. Submit the data of the item to Naval Sea Systems Command, PEO, Expeditionary Warfare, Attn: Mr. Skip Vollweiler, 1333 Isaac Hull Ave, SE Stop 7210 Washington Navy Yard, DC 20376-7210, Fred.Vollweiler@navy.mil; (202) 781-5715. This synopsis does not constitute an Invitation for Bid or Request for Proposals, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the government to issue an order or otherwise pay for the information submitted.
