- The Wilkes Barre VAMC in Northeastern Pennsylvania is seeking interested sources to coordinate the Graduate Medical Education Program. Responsibilities include: 1. Develop and define new policies, GMEC responsibilities and provide education sessions to Designated Institutional Officer. 2. Revise the House Staff contract to include all policies and procedures for education, benefits, and grievances. 3. Revise affiliation agreement so the Program Director has oversight of participating institutions and preceptors. 4. Advise scholarly environment publications and resident participation. 5. Review methods in keeping statistics, ie; numbers and types of patient seen in all facilities. 6. Develop assessment of six competencies for residents in the program and residents transferring into the program. 7. Review resident master rotation schedule and advise the Designated Institution Official of additional rotations necessary for female patients receiving outside care. 8. Develop organized plan to do internal review of the entire residency program, specifically for Internal Medicine Residency Program. 9. Advise all participating CEO's and Institutions of their responsibilities regarding financial, educational, and clinical resources necessary to enrich the program to ensure continued compliance. This project is limited in scope to approximately one-month duration commencing soon.
