Description
This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis (SSS). The HSG/ASK, Brooks City-Base, TX is seeking sources for PARACHUTE CANOPY RELEASE KITS used on B-1B, B-2, and F-15 aircraft. These kits modify the existing ACES II ejection seat parachute and the pilot?s torso harness. Three different kits are expected to be procured. Kit A integrates with the existing B-1B and B-2 ACES II recovery parachute and the Frost configured Universal Water Activated Release System (UWARS). Kit B integrates with the existing F-15 ACES II recovery parachute and the 1st Generation H. Koch & Sons configured UWARS. Kit H modifies the existing PCU-15/P or PCU-16/P torso harness to integrate with aircraft installed Kit A or B. These kits modify the B-1B, B-2, and F-15 emergency egress configuration to add a low-load parachute release system requiring no more than 15 pounds of force (under any load) to disengage. Predominate Material & Dimensions: Black nickel finish stainless steel: 3.0 X 2.375 X 1.250 inches. The item must be manufactured to proprietary system drawing 980100. The recommended source is H. Koch & Sons, 5410 E. La Palma, Anaheim, CA 92807-2099. Government drawings, tooling, and facilities to manufacture these kits are not available. The contractor shall furnish all plant facilities, labor, equipment, special tools, test equipment, and materials. Firms possessing the capabilities to meet this requirement are invited to submit an airworthiness certification from the applicable aircraft chief engineer, enclose relevant test plans and independent laboratory test data, product information/catalogues, current GSA or other schedule information (if applicable) and price list/schedule. Formal responses to this SSS should also detail the experience, capabilities, and rights to proprietary drawings, as briefly outlined above, to the Government.
