Description
This is a sources sought announcement to aid the government (Special Projects Group, Air-to-Ground Munitions Systems Wing (SPG/YVP)) in locating potential sources capable of designing, developing and testing an air delivered miniature munition that can kill both stationary and moving targets in day/night, adverse weather. There is no solicitation available at this time, nor is there a commitment by the government to issue a solicitation, make an award, or be responsible for any monies expended by interested parties for submission packages in response to this synopsis. Interested sources having applicable capability, and background in all up round weapon systems design and/or full up seeker/data link solutions are invited to complete the attached Request for Information (RFI) and participate in Industry Day 1 exchange of information. Your response must include sufficient backup data to support your comments and/or recommendations in order to conduct meaningful exchanges. The objective of Industry Day 1 is to communicate the government?s requirement by reviewing the key performance attributes of the draft Capabilities Development Document (CDD), draft schedule for risk reduction phase acquisition, draft risk reduction phase end state criteria, and draft acquisition strategy alternatives for this acquisition. The information gathered from Industry Day 1 will assist in the development of the solicitation package. Separate industry sessions at Eglin AFB FL will be held to discuss your comments to the draft documents. Only those firms providing a response to this request for information will be eligible to participate in Industry Day 1 discussions. An attendance roster of all participants will be made available. To participate in the Industry Day 1 exchange of information contact Ms Chris Altman or Capt Sean McBride at (850) 882-7321 exts 2769/3253 to schedule appointment times. Written responses to the RFI must be submitted by e-mail no later than 12 May 05. To receive an electronic copy of the CDD a written request must be submitted to Ms Chris Altman at e-mail chris.altman@eglin.af.mil. It is industry?s responsibility to monitor the www.fedbizopps.gov site for the release of any follow-on information, or by visiting the web site located at https://sdb2.eglin.af.mil. A response to the RFI are not considered offers nor is it a commitment by the government to issue a solicitation, make an award, or be responsible for any monies expended by interested parties for submission packages in response to the RFI.
