- The purposes of this amendment are to 1) provide a list of questions received and responses to those questions, 2) to extend the response date to May 13, 2005 by 10:00:00 a.m. eastern time, 3) to add a crane to Attachment A. The following information has been added to Attachment A: 226/C02 Building, 226, Room B165, Louden - P & H, ELRA71256, Bridge, Underhung, 2 Ton, Electric, Wire Rope,Y,1-Jun. The deadline for questions is Monday, May 9, 2005 at 3:00:00 p.m. eastern time. Questions/Answers: Q1) The inspection of the gearbox in most case we would replace all bearings and seal, OCE has found that some bearings could be bad or seal and gaskets would be damaged once we opened the gearbox's. This has been our standard operation for the past 10 years, could you please advise. A1) For the gear box inspections, the Contractor shall not replace, or repair any crane component. During the inspection the inspector must provide strong evidence to support the inspection of any gearbox. The order is only for inspections. Any repair service orders shall be contracted separately under a separate procurement. Q2) What is the length and height of the runways? A2) The site visit provided each potential offeror a clear view for the condition of the crane inspection. The information requested is not readily available. Q3) And most important of all is there a safety line in place for our men to walk the rail? if not would we need to install one? A3) OSHA provides all of the safety requirements necessary to perform a safe crane inspection. The Contractor must follow their own safety plans necessary to comply with OSHA safety standards. Q4) If no line is to be used, is there going to room for a man-lift to perform this inspection and laser check? A4) The Contractor shall provide all materials, equipment, and labor necessary to complete the crane inspection. The Contractor shall make their own decision for addition equipment necessary for the inspections. Q5) The information on the rail check is this for the bridge crane only or all monorails? If I can get the height and length of the runways for 1-4, 11-15, 18,18, 20,21, 26,27, 29, 33,34, 37, 42,43, 55-57, 67, 68 70, 76, &79 A5) The laser check shall only be for the cranes and locations given. The information is not readily available. The site visit provided each potential offeror an opportunity to make any necessary measurements.
