Description

As part of the FY05 AMH project, the Government requires aircraft hangar doors that open vertically, are insulated and resist infiltration, and are made up of multiple sections, operated either individually or in groups. The overall hangar opening, with all doors open, will be approximately 225 feet wide by 36 feet tall. The opening will have up to three (3) separate door sections with swing-up intermediate mullions. Vertical opening doors do not require lateral door pockets and eliminates the rails and/or floor tracks required with sliding doors. Double-fabric doors with horizontal stiffeners provide structural resistence to wind loading, resistence to infiltration, and provide thermal performance to approximately R-3. A series of multiple doors with swing-up mullions will provide the user with most flexibility in housing a variety of aircraft sizes and configurations while limiting exposure of the hangar bay to the elements.
