Description

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) intends to award a cost-plus-fixed-fee type contract. The proposed effort will require the contractor to provide qualified personnel to support the NRC project entitled "Digital Systems Dependability Performance," which involves fault-injection testing of NRC-approved nuclear digital safety systems provided as government furnished equipment. The contractor will be responsible for performing the experiments, subsequent technical analysis, and reporting in accordance with NRC requirements. Task 1: Safety Assessment of a Safety-Critical Commercial Computer System, Optional Task 2: Refinement of Safety Assessment Methodology for Safety-Critical Commercial Computer Systems, and Optional Task 3: Validation of Safety Assessment Methodology for Safety-Critical Commercial Computer Systems. Because of intellectual property concerns, non-disclosure agreements with system vendors will be required. The period of performance for Task 1 is estimated to be 19 months from the day of award. Optional Tasks 2 and 3 are estimated to be 19 months from the day these tasks are exercised. This procurement is open to all business size standards. The Request for Proposals will be available for download from FedBizOpps on or about May 23, 2005.
