- The Coast Guard has a requirement for Motoren Und Turbine Union (MTU) certified contractors to perform the overhaul of the Motoren Und Turbine Union (MTU) 8V396TE94 Marine Propulsion Diesel Engine on the 87-foot patrol boats listed below, approximately 37 boats. The government will compare pricing for the most advantageous period of performance for the boat. The contract specialist will strive to notify the contractor 30-days prior to the contract start date. Offerors should anticipate a 10-hour workday at a minimum. Technical Representative must be a certified MTU Technical Rep. Technical Rep must submit a resume of experience on equipment 8V39TE94 (in marine application), with a minimum of 5 years experience over the last 10 years. Offerors must submit a technical plan addressing: (1) how you plan to utilize up to 900 hours of USCG Labor, (2) Bosch Pump overhaul (plan and certification), (3) performance plan for all the required overhaul work to be completed within 21 calendar days, (4) Resume of technical representative and other proposed contractor personnel. (5) Warranty – contractor to provide details of their commercial warranty and provide the limitations which apply to services rendered. Anticipate awarding 2 Requirements Type Delivery Order contracts for the following geographical locations: (1) Northern: from the Virginia/North Carolina Border north to Maine and (2) Southern: From the Virginia/North Carolina Border South to the Gulf of Mexico to the Texas/Mexico Border. Award will be made to the responsible contractor whose offer, conforming to the RFQ, will be most advantageous to the government, price and other factors considered including a technical evaluation. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 336611. This procurement will be issued under full and open competition. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The RFQ package and specifications will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page on or about January 5, 2005 at http://www.eps.gov/. Funds are available for this procurement.
