Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM), Infantry Weapons Sytems Product Group is interested in replacing the existing AN/PVS-4 Individual Night Sight with a smaller, lighter, and higher performing GEN III or better night sight for use in low-light conditions. An individual weapon version and a crew-served weapon version of the riflescope are envisioned, however one device with dual fields of view or adjustable magnification may be applicable. Although information is sought to replace an image-intensified device, the technology sought for night vision is not limited to image intensified devices only (e.g. thermal). The individual sight shall have the capability to allow recognition and engagement of standing man-sized targets out to 500 meters (15 degree FoV desired), 800m desired. The crew-served sight shall have the capability to allow recognition and engagement of standing man-sized targets out to 1100 meters (8 degree FoV desired), 1700m desired. The replacement for the AN/PVS-4 night vision riflescope should satisfy the following conditions: · Weigh less than 4.0 pounds with batteries. · MTBF greater than 2,000 hours desired. · Mount on the MIL-STD-1913 rail of the upper receiver · Use currently available military or commercial batteries (AA preferred) · Employ internal reticle adjustments for azimuth and elevation · BDC reticle desirable · Should be compatible with PEQ-2a laser pointer/illuminator. · Not interfere with AN/PEQ-2A or AN/PAQ-4C when mounted on the Marine Corps M4 Carbine, M16A2 or M16A4 Rifle · The AN/PVS-4 replacement should be compatible with the environments in which the USMC conducts operations and training, and the induced environments of the M4 Carbine, M16A2/M16A4 Rifles, M249 Squad Automatic Weapon including ‘ParaSAW’, and M240G and M240B Medium Machine Gun. Firms which have products that meet the above characteristics/capabilities are invited to submit the following information within their Capability Statement: 1) Product summary, 2) Complete detailed technical characteristics and specifications (including but not limited to the parameters mentioned above), 3) Pictures/drawings of system, 4) Unit price and delivery (based on lot quantities of 100, 500, 1,000, 5,000, and 10,000) unit manufacturing capability. Responses will be reviewed to identify firms potentially capable of fulfilling the Government's requirements. Vendors are requested to submit their Capability Statement to the address below no later than 20 May 2005. It is requested that no Capability Statement be sent via e-mail.
