Description

The U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) Water Resources Discipline (WRD) anticipates entering into non-competitive discussions with Computer Associates of Herndon, Virginia, pursuant to their GSA Schedule, to procure discipline wide Ingres software maintenance for all licenses currently installed on WRD computers. The Ingres software to be maintained includes: IngresDBMS; Ingres Knowledge Management; Ingres Object Management; Ingres Query & Reporting Tools; Ingres Serve Net; Ingres OpenRoad Development; Ingres Replicator and Ingres Embedded SQL (C, Fortran). Based on information available at this time, the Government considers the required software maintenance to be sole source as the software to be maintained is proprietary. Therefore, only licensed agents of Computer Associates will be acceptable. The anticipated period of performance is a base year with one 12-month option period. The order will provide for the following: (1) discipline side Ingres software maintenance to include new software versions, updates, patches, and documentation of each supported platform on which the existing software is installed; (2) Ingress technical support via telephone to WRD users; and (3) one set of software releases/updates/patches on the required media for each hardware platform. Firms who believe they can provide the required software maintenance services are invited to submit an affirmative response within 15 days of the publication date of this notice in accordance with numbered Note 22. Responses should include full technical information on the vendor in such detail as to enable the Government to confirm the submitters capabilities. All such responses will be evaluated in order to determine whether that firm has full knowledge of the USGS's requirement for maintenance of the above software in accordance with the minimum mandatory requirements. An affirmative response shall, at a minimum, include company literature, brochures and other such information corresponding to the required services which demonstrates a bona fide ability to provide the required services. This notice is for informational purposes only. REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS NOT AVAILABLE. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement.
