Description
The contractor shall furnish all supplies, material, equipment, labor and supervision to perform interior work in the Healthcare Suite located on the first floor of the J.G. Low Federal Building, 100 W. Oglethorpe Avenue, Savannah, Georgia. MAGNITUDE OF CONSTRUCTION IS UNDER $10,000.00. A PRE-BID SITE VISIT WILL TAKE PLACE ON 17 MARCH 2005 AT 9:00 AM EST. A SOLICITATION PACKAGE WILL BE HANDED TO ALL POTENTIAL OFFERORS AT THAT TIME. PROJECT SUMMARY: This work includes interior repainting of walls through-out the suite. It also includes refinishing all interior doors w/frames and replacing ceiling tile in the entrance to the suite. The Suite location is shown on the attached drawing excerpt of the First Floor. SCOPE OF WORK: The contractor shall provide all labor, material, equipment and supervision as required to complete the following work: 1. Move, cover and properly protect furniture and contents as needed to access all walls for painting. 2. Prep and paint approximately 4,100 square feet of gypsum wall board with two coats of Latex paint, to match existing colors. All walls will be painted except the storage closet in the main corridor and supply storage area (Room #4), located at the southwest side of the suite. 3. Prep and refinish all flush interior doors (Stained Fin.) with one coat varnish. 4. Prep and paint all metal door frames and trim with two coats of Latex semi-gloss paint, to match existing colors. 5. Remove and replace approximately 200 square feet of fissured mineral fiber lay-in ceiling tile in Room #1. In this room all ceiling tile will be replaced but the existing ceiling grid will remain. 6. Remove and replace other damaged ceiling tile through-out the suite with undamaged ceiling salvaged from Room #1. 7. Move all furniture and contents to the original locations after work is completed. SPECIAL STIPULATIONS: 1. All work shall be scheduled and coordinated with the occupants to minimize disruption of normal work in the area. 2. Work hours shall be restricted to allow for proper drying of painted surfaces and to ventilate the area prior to normal business operations. Work shall commence no earlier than 6:00 P.M. on Fridays and be completed no later than midnight on Saturdays. PERFORMANCE PERIOD: 30 Calendar days from receipt of Notice to Proceed. This can be: * an existing published wage determination * a survey underlying a wage determination * a Wage and Hour Division letter setting forth a position on a wage determination matter * a conformance (additional classification and rate) ruling On survey related matters, initial contact, including requests for summaries of surveys, should be with the Wage and Hour Regional Office for the area in which the survey was conducted because those Regional Offices have responsibility for the Davis-Bacon survey program. If the response from this initial contact is not satisfactory, then the process described in 2.) and 3.) should be followed. With regard to any other matter not yet ripe for the formal process described here, initial contact should be with the Branch of Construction Wage Determinations.
