Description
DESC: US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) located at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida is looking for companies with the capabilities and facilities to provide COTS, NDI, or near NDI Improved Limpet Mine as replacement for the legacy MKV Limpet Assembly Module (LAM). USSOCOM intends to apply for approval of a Foreign Comparative Testing (FCT) project (www.acq.osd.mil/sts/fct) to evaluate candidate explosives. USSOCOM is interested in contracting with vendors who are currently using the most advanced technologies in the design and fabrication of a smaller and lighter demolition charge that has an explosive equivalent of the MKV LAM. The Charge must be neutrally buoyant in salt water, either as a singular unit or with an attached buoyancy compensator that will allow easy maneuvering while submerged. The objective size of this demolition charge is 6 cubic feet and less than 75 pounds total dry weight. Responses are requested of those suppliers who can provide approximately 15 rounds of ammunition ready for test and demonstration purposes on or about 01 November 2005. Responses to this market survey are due on or before 18 May 2005, and must include a product description with performance parameters and a statement regarding current availability, summary of prior testing, test reports, summary of logistic and maintenance requirements and an estimated cost for the price of test articles and production units. Please provide name of firm, address, POC, phone/fax number, and email address. Submit data of the item to USSOCOM, ATTN: SOAL-SP (Heilig), 7701 Tampa Point Blvd., MacDill AFB, FL 33621. This synopsis does not constitute an Invitation for bid or Request for Proposals, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the government to issue an order or otherwise pay for the information submitted. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (10-MAY-2005). IT ACTUALLY APPEARED OR REAPPEARED ON THE FEDBIZOPPS SYSTEM ON 11-MAY-2005.
