Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR part 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and an additional written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation, FA2517-05-R-5004, is issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition 05-03. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code is 333298 and the business size maximum is 500 employees. ITEM DESCRIPTION: Purchase Paint & Bead Blast Booth Equipment as listed below: PAINT BOOTH SPECIFICATIONS SPECIAL, PRESSURIZED, DOWNDRAFT, TRUCK/EQUIPMENT, DRY FILTER PAINT SPRAY BOOTH Booth Working Dimensions: 15’ Wide x 15’ High x 30’ Working Depth Approx, Booth Overall Dimensions: 16 Wide x 19’6” High x 30’4” Overall Depth Construction: 18 gauge galvanized steel sheets, double wall insulated, painted white. Booth includes: 2 ea. 36” axial in-line exhaust fans (26,000 CFM © 2.5” s.p.) 2 ea. 20 h.p. 480 volts, 3 phase, 60 Hz TEFC high efficiency motor with variable pitch drive sheave. UL recognized. 20 ea. Fluorescent light fixtures, inside access 48” 4-tube, 265 mA, 32-watt T8 ballast, dual voltage-120/277. 20 ea 48” 4-tube IR lighting for curing 1 set Solid bi-fold product entry door (12’ wide x 12’ high). Doors are 2” tube framed and single skinned with 18 ga. sheet steel for sturdiness and durability. Door hinges are heavy duty for long lasting performance. Blast room features: #1 blast room dimensions: 15’ wide x 15’high x 29’ long inside dimensions The blast room compartment is of panel construction, sheared and broke to form an atlanta ‘t’ bolted together, fabricated of 10-gauge steel. Product entry/exit doors feature: Two (2) sets double panel, 2” square tubing frame, hinged, 12’w x 15’h work doors fabricated of 10-gauge steel. These doors are self-sealing, swing type, for manual operation. One set of doors to be located on end of building. Personnel access doors: Two 2) 2’6”w x 6’6”h personnel doors fabricated of steel, with observation window and limit switch. Two (2) exit lights. Lighting: Twenty-six (26) -2’ x 4’, four bulb, 277 volt fluorescent light fixtures. Blast plenums: Air intakes fabricated of 10-gauge steel. Exhaust plenums fabricated of 10-gauge steel. Equipment specifications and features: #2 -Blast room components: Elevator: one (1) 18‘ h elevator fabricated of steel plate and painted gray: Elevator boot with non-choke in feed spout. Access door for clean-out, removable bearing plates on both sides of boot for easy access to pulley. Intermediate casing sections are dust and abrasive tight. Access door for belt and bucket inspection provided. Elevator belt constructed of specially reinforced material. Elevator head has removable top cover for belt installation or inspection. Head pulley is crowned and rubber lagged. Elevator bearings are pre-lubricated, sealed and off-the-shelf items. Drive unit consists of a shaft-mounted gear reducer driven by a 2 h.p. electric motor. Separator One (1) high efficiency, high capacity separator: Stainless steel rotary screen driven by a 2 HP motor. Lower air wash section, Adjustable metering gate. Adjustable air velocity control panel. Adjustable skimmer plates. Separation zone is 12” high to allow space for efficient separation of good abrasive and fine refuse. Storage hopper: One (1) 80 cu.ft. Fabricated of steel plate with ladder and handrails. Direct pressure blast tank: One (1) 6.5 cu. Ft., single chamber blast tank. Electric controls. 1 Ό” piping for grit control. 25’ x 1 Ό” blast hose. 10 of whip hose for easy control. One (1) 3/8” nozzle type blast control One (1) supplied air system consisting of helmet assembly with breathing shroud, breathing tube and regulation valve with quick disconnect to helmet from compressed air line. Long screw: Three (3) approximately 28’ x 9” diameter long screws with Ό” fighting. Hanger bearings. Flange bearings. Three (3) 3HP screw drive assemblies. Drives are shaft mounted. No chains and sprockets anywhere in the system. Every conveyor has it’s own drive. Cross screw: One(1) approximately 15’6” x 9” diameter cross screw with Ό” flighting. Flange bearing. One (1) 3 h.p. shaft mounted, screw drive assembly. Floor grating: All required floor grating rated at 250#. Support steel. All required support steel rated at 5000#. Dust Collector: One (1) – 18,000 cfm, 80 fpm, dust collector fabricated of 3/16” plate, painted gray with pulse air blow-down for cleaning filters. Blower with 40 hp motor. Ventilation Piping: Twenty (20) feet of ventilation piping fabricated of 14 gauge galvanized with Vanstone rings. Control Panel: One (1) pre-wired and interlocked NEMA 12 electrical control panel: Includes starters, fuses, push buttons & mail line disconnect. The provision at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items applies to this acquisition. An Offeror shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database (see DFAR reference below or CCR website www.ccr.gov). Offerors shall include a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror representations and Certifications-- Commercial Items http://orca.bpn.gov/, with their proposal. FAR 52.252-1, Solicitation Provisions Incorporated by Reference (see website http://farsite.hill.af.mil/). FAR 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items, states the Government intends to award a contract resulting from the solicitation to the responsible offeror whose proposal conforms to the solicitation that will be most advantageous to the Government, including price for new equipment (FAR 52.211-5), technical evaluation including examination of such things as product literature, product samples (if requested), technical features (i.e., Buy American FAR 52.225-3) and warranty provisions (FAR 52.246-19) will be considered. The Government attends to award to the lowest aggregrate price which meets the specifications listed in this solicitation. Therefore, the offeror’s proposal should contain the offeror’s best terms; discounts and price proposal including charges and fees. However, the Government reserves the right to conduct discussions and to further limit the competitive range for reasons of efficiency, if determined necessary by the Contracting Officer. The Government may reject any or all offers if such action is in the public interest. Proposals will be submitted in writing and signed by an individual with the authority to bind their respective company.
