- Paul Daneker, Contract Specialist, Phone (206) 764-6865, Fax (206) 764-6817, email paul.r.daneker@nws02.usace.army.mil is the point of contact for the following: The Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, is requesting sealed bids for construction of the Chief Joseph Dam Gas Abatement Spillway Deflectors, Chief Joseph Dam (CJD), Bridgeport, WA. The work will include but not be limited to construct concrete flow deflectors on each of the 19 spillways at Chief Joseph Dam. Work will require construction of dewatering caisson (cofferdam) for formwork and dewatering system and protection from overtopping; pressure cell instrumentation, fencing, septic tank inst allation and water line. Contaminated water from demolition and construction activities will be treated and returned to the river; create staging areas for contractor and Army Corps of Engineers use; enable the establishment of a concrete batch plant at C JD; pave a portion of the right bank just below the dam to mitigate the effects of additional spray resulting from the presence of the flow deflectors; and install fence and guardrail. A firm-fixed price contract is anticipated. Project is open to both l arge and small businesses. If you are a large business and your proposal will exceed $1 million, you will be required to submit a subcontracting plan with goals for small, HUBZone, small disadvantaged, small woman-owned, and small veteran-owned concerns. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) is 237990 and the small business size standard is $28.5 Million. Estimated cost is between $10,000,00 and $25,000,000. This solicitation will be available on or about June 3, 2005 and will be issued as an Electronic Bid Set (EBS) on the Seattle District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Web page in electronic format only.
