- This is a COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for commercial items prepared in accordance with the information in FAR Subpart 12.6, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures under the test program for commercial items found at FAR 13.5, as supplemented with the additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. PAPER COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE. This combined synopsis/solicitation SHALL be posted on both FEDBIZOPPS and NECO (http://www.neco.navy.mil/). The RFQ number is N00244-05-T-0598. This solicitation documents and incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through FAC 2005-03 and DFARS Change Notice 20050509. It is the contractor?s responsibility to be familiar with the applicable clauses and provisions. The clauses may be accessed in full text at these addresses: www.acqnet.gov/far and http://www.acq.osd.mil/dpap/dfars/index.htm. The NAICS code is! 811213 and the Small Business Standard is $6.0. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside, competitive, unrestricted action. FISC San Diego, Detachment Seal Beach, CA, requests quotes from responsible qualified sources capable of providing the following: Item No. 0001, Tower Upgrade, 1 Lot. The proposed effort is required to reinforce the new microwave equipment at the EIA Standard SR-222-D 95 mph. The tower requires reinforcement to support new equipment at the standard. Requirements: The contractor shall replace diagonal members with new higher capacity members at the following locations: 226?-241?, 3 bays and 286?-291?, 1 bay. The contractor shall temporarily support the structure with a temporary support frame while replacing the diagonals. The contractor shall install additional horizontal sub-bracing at the mid-point of each of the following bracing panels between the following location: 11?-51?, 8 panels. The contractor shall replace guy material with high capacity guy stands at the 3rd guy level. Material shall be the following: 5/8? EHS 1 x 7 guy strand ASTM A475 class ?A? galvanized with guy links adapted to existing guy lug conditions. All hardware shall be new. The requirement includes delivery of installation drawings. Inspection and acceptance shall be at destination.
