Description
This information is for solicitation SP0100-05-R-0073. The items are as follows: Item 0001: Cover, Hat, Replacement, men?s, CG, Item 0002: Kit, Hat, Enlisted, Combination, Men?s, CG, Type II Frame, Type I Cover, and Item 0003: Kit, Hat, Commander/Captain, Combination, Men?s, CG, Type I, Class II. The applicable NSN?s for this procurement are: Item 0001: 8405-01-520-5807(s), Item 0002: 8405-01-520-9771(s) and Item 0003: 8405-01-520-9757. The Military Specification is MIL-C-24937A dated June 2, 1993. The Pattern is dated 14 December 2004. Sample information is basic fabric for Cover, Polyester, Polyester/Cotton Twill, White 3053 made in accordance with MIL-C-24927 is available and applicable for shade, color and colorfastness; and is identified as Roll No. 89307. A standard sample for Cloth, Poly/Wool Serge, Blude Shade 3362 is available as Roll No. 80353, for shade and colorfastness of Hat Frame. The purchase quantity is as follows: Item 0001 for a Minimum of 1,000 each and a Maximum of 9,000 each, Item 0002 for a Minimum of 2,484 kits and a Maximum of 19,896 kits and Item 0003 for a Minimum of 120 kits and a Maximum of 345 kits. This procurement will consist of a Base Year and Three (3) One (1) Year Term Options. It is the Government?s intent to spread the quantity over three (3) deliveries for the first delivery order. The first delivery is due 90 days or sooner after the date of the award. FOB Destination ? Lion Vallen Industries (SC0102) is required. The solicitation will be issued as a Total Small Business Set Aside that will result in a firm fixed price contract. This is a Best Value Acquisition with Source Selection Procedures. The following factors will be utilized in descending order of importance: (1) Product Demonstration Model (PDM); (2) Past Performance/Experience; and (3) DLA Mentoring Business Agreement. All materials used in the fabrication of the end item are to be furnished by the contractor. The Government does not intend to use FAR Part 12 for this acquisition. Important Note on Foreign Content, the Defense appropriations and authorization acts and other statutes (including what is commonly referred to as ?The Berry Amendment?) imposes restrictions on the DoD?s acquisition of foreign products and services. Generally, Clothing and Textile items (as defined in DFARS Clause 252.225-7012) and ?specialty metals? (as defined in DFARS Clause 252.225-7014) must be grown, reprocessed, reused, melted or produced in the United States, its possessions or Puerto Rico, unless one of the DFARS 225.7002-2 exceptions applies.
