- Description
- The contract requires contractor to thin timber stands, remove designated hazard trees, and treat activity fuels (slash) to reduce the potential of high intensity wildfires. All thinned material shall be masticated, lopped or piled on site. Project area is approximately 265 acres on the Espanola Ranger District, Santa Fe National Forest. The planned treatment is on slopes that are generally less than 30 percent; however, there are inclusions that are up to 50 percent. The blocks contain mainly pole sized trees, greater than 6? in diameter, with stand densities ranging from 400-600 trees per acre. The blocks are located in five different locations; machinery will need to be transported or driven from block to block. The topography is broken with patchy shelf rock. This is a performance based services contract. This solicitation will not be available electronically.
