- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Division of Applied Research Technology (DART) located in Cincinnati Ohio seeks to utilize the expertise and experience of an organization to relocate anechoic chamber components, assemble at new location, obtain/install new anechoic wedge treatment, and reinstall suspension floor in anechoic chamber. The successful vendor will be expected to Remove created Industrial Acoustics Corporation (IAC) serial number 76-0378 anechoic chamber components. Assemble anechoic chamber at designated location in B-3 level. Obtain and install new anechoic wedge treatment for anechoic chamber. Reinstall suspension floor in anechoic chamber. The period of performance is for 1 month estimated to begin in April 2005. Evaluation and selection will be made based on minimum requirements as follows (1) Remove created Industrial Acoustics Corporation (IAC) serial number 76-0378 anechoic chamber components for storage in Building T-9 National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, Taft North, 1090 Tusculum, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45226 Relocate to National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, Robert A Taft Laboratories, 4676 Columbia Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45226, level B-3. Both areas are accessible by truck. T-9 will require a truck with a lift gate. B-3 has a loading dock. Travel Distance is less than 1 mile.(2) Assemble anechoic chamber at designated location in B-3 level. Use new caulking, glass wool and other materials as necessary, including new vibration isolators. Clean interior and exterior surfaces of plant. Allow access of NIOSH Contracted facilities staff to connect appropriated electrical and ventilation system to chamber. (3) Obtain and install new anechoic wedge treatment for anechoic chamber. Wedges shall be impedance-tube tested and shall be rated to have a low-frequency cut-off of less than 100 Hz. (4) Reinstall suspension floor in anechoic chamber. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less then $100,000. The entire scope of work, requirements and evaluation factors will be addressed in the solicitation when issued. This procurement is being issued unrestricted. The NAICS code for this action is 235950. Request for Quotation (RFQ) No. 2005-Q-01887 will be issued on or after April 11, 2005, and proposals will be due by May 24, 2005. No telephone requests for the solicitation will be accepted.
