Description: This solicitation will be available at http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about June 1, 2005 with a proposal opening date of approximately 30 days following issuance. Description: 15 State Street, Visitor Center Mechanical Upgrades, Boston National Historical Park, Boston, Massachusetts 02129. Solicitation Number N1720050512. The work on this contract consists of the replacement of air conditioning equipment serving 15 State Street. This will include the removal and replacement of one air handling unit and two condensing units on the roof of the 11-story building. Another air handling unit at the bottom of the building's airshaft will be removed and the roof will be replaced. The work within the building will include the removal and reconfiguration of ductwork serving the first floor and mezzanine. New control dampers will be installed at the connections to the supply riser on each floor. Work of this contract includes all mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and associated work to provide a fully operational cooling system for the building, as described in the plans and specifications. The National Park Service anticipates entering into a firm fixed-price construction contract as a result of this solicitation. This acquisition is subject to P.L.100-656, Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program, and as such is open to all concerns regardless of size. The NAICS code for this project is 238220 with a small business size standard of $12 million. The contract performance period is 45 calendar days following Notice to Proceed. In accordance with FAR Section 36.204, the estimated price range for this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. Contractors are urged to make a site visit to ascertain existing work conditions. It is anticipated a pre-proposal conference will be held Mid-June 2005; further details will be described in the solicitation. All interested offerors are encouraged to attend.
