Description

National Institutes of Health, National Institute on Aging, Intramural Research Program, Gerontology Research Center intends to negotitate on a sole source basis with the University of Delaware, 226 Allison Hall, Newark, Delaware for the purpose of determining if factors attributed to race, ethnicity or economic stabilityare contributing elements in the cause of health disparities among such diverse populations. The study is determining to what level nutrition plays in the epidemiological make-up of a diverse population when viewed in a longitudinal manner. Specific techniques to be used to investigate the effects of nutrition and diet on a population include nutritional monitoring and dietary recall. This study will collect data from adult community dwelling volunteers. These data must be scored and entered using specifically designed nutritional look-up tables. Vendor will provide a nutritional survey and scoring methodology for recording the nutritional constituents of participants' daily diets. The survey will be standardized so that participants can be compared to one another and so that participants can be compared to themselves over time.
