- The 46th Test Group at Holloman AFB, New Mexico intends to issue a sole source contract to Regents of New Mexico State University, Physical Science Laboratory, Stewart and Espina Street, Las Cruces, New Mexico 88003-8002. This sole source contract will be for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operations and systems validation. The effort is to design, develop, demonstrate, validate and perform UAV systems and operations in the National Airspace System, supporting any category of DoD and other Federal UAV users in all airspace classes. The general purpose Certificate of Authorization for the UAV flight area in the National Airspace System located northwest of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and coordinated operational airspace extending from Las Cruces, New Mexico to Alaska, Alaska to Hawaii, and Hawaii back to Las Cruces, New Mexico is proprietary to Physical Science Laboratory. This airspace and other sites of interest will be used for enabling technology test and validation and operational program flights. Processes, procedures, and infrastructure utilized in the initial program will be employed in this follow-on effort.
