Description

To provide all necessary qualified personnel and services, material, equipment, and supplies to perform testing services for the detection of antibodies and antigens against the Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1) employing Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved test methodologies. The contractor shall perform initial HIV Eli sa Screening Tests and Repeat HIV Elisa Screening Test (Set of two), and the HIV Antibody Western Blot submitted by Army Medical Treatment Facilities, Army Reserve Physical Examinations (coordinated by the FEDS_HEAL Program Office), U.S. Coast Guard Sites , and Army National Guard Sites. Screening tests will be with an Enzyme Linked ImmunoSorbent Assay (ELISA) derived from whole viral lysate. Confirmatory testing shall be performed with the Western blot technique on serum and plasma samples. Samples with repeatedly reactive ELISA results shall be re-tested with the Western Blot technique to determine reactivity with HIV-1 specific viral polypeptides. A contract will be awarded for the basic performance period of 01 Oct 05 through 30 Sep 06 with four one-ye ar options.
