Description

The Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Trane Chicago Service, Willowbrook IL for the maintenance, overhaul and emergency repairs of Trane Chillers and associated equipment located at the Lakeside CBOC, Chicago IL. This procurement is being conducted in accordance FAR 6.302 - only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS 81131. Equipment to be services shall include but not be limited to the following: two (2) Trane CVHE Water Cooled Centrifugal Chillers, one (1) Trane RTHA Water Cooled Rotary Chiller, two (2) Trane CCUA Air Cooled Condensers, two (2) Trane CCUA Reciprocating Compressors, Building Automation Systems (BAS) and associated components. To the best of our knowledge, Trane Chicago Service, is the only source who employs personnel that are factory trained on this specific equipment, is an Authorized Building Automation Service Company of the manufacture who has access to the Trane Source Code for the custom programming and services, is an authorized supplier of required parts and is capable of meeting a two-hour onsite response time for emergency repairs. Certification on training and experience in maintaining and overhauling the equipment is required. Any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within ten (10) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with these requirements. Oral communications are not acceptable. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Building 5, 5000 W. National Ave. Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Trane Chicago.
