Description

The US Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to contract with the American Fisheries Society (AFS), Bethesda, Maryland. The AFS is a unique single responsible source who administers the Hutton Junior Fisheries Biology Program. This contract is for a sponsorship of the Hutton Junior Fisheries Biology Program. The purpose of the program is to promote the fisheries profession and develop interest in fisheries sciences careers among minority and women high school students. The Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition (JOFOC) is processed under the authority in 41 U.S.C. 253(1), as set forth in FAR 6.302-1. This is not a solicitation. A copy of the JOFOC is on file. It is planned that a purchase order will be awarded with a period of performance of four (4) months. This decision is based on prior market research conducted using a previous solicitation in the FedBizOps. See numbered note 22.
