Description
Notice of Intent: Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, “Only One Responsible Source And No Other Supplies Or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirement,” the Office of the Federal Detention Trustee (OFDT) is planning to issue a sole-source contract to The GEO Group, Inc. for an existing secured detention facility located within the geographic boundaries of San Diego County, California, with a capacity of not less than 700 beds to house persons in custody of United States Marshals Service (USMS)- Reference Number ODT-USMS-5-0001 under the Sources Sought Notice. The issuance of the award will be based on a 5-year service contract with 5 option years. The GEO Group, Inc. already provides secure care, custody and control for the United States Marshal prisoners. These services include security, medical care, food, laundry, booking, video arraignment and transportation. Both male and female prisoners are housed at this facility. Based on the sources sought notice, The GEO Group, Inc. is the only one to fulfill the need of the Agency. Responses received as a result of this notice of intent shall be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses will not be considered as either proposals or quotations. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition, based upon the written responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties having all capabilities to perform the services described above are requested to submit capability statements, limited to no more than 10 pages and to be received within 15 days of publication of this Notice to: Office of the Federal Detention Trustee, Contracting, 1331 Pennsylvania Ave NW, National Place Building, Suite 1210, Washington, DC 20530.
