Description

The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO) intends to issue a sole source extension for the procurement of hardware lease and maintenance of the National Gateway Center (NGC) at Ft. Detrick, MD which includes system hardware engineering, system transition and phase-out technical support, limited software support and logistical support for Contractor- and Government-owned equipment. The extension consists of one month and two one-month options. The sole source extension is required due to the short time frame before the contract ends. In the short time available, only the existing contractor can meet the requirements for this extension. The period of performance will be 01 Jul 05 - 30 Sep 05. Statutory authority for this acquisition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1)—Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, as implemented in FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) 206.303-1. This system was developed by CSC Information Systems, LLC (CSC), 15000 Conference Center Drive, Chantilly, VA 20151, who still owns the proprietary rights to most of the equipment and site specific engineering records. CSC is the only known repair source for this. The Government intends to make a single firm-fixed price award to CSC.
