Description
a) The United States Air Force (USAF) Air Warfare Battlelab (AWB) intends to conduct the Thermographic Diagnostic Aid for Maintenance (TDAM) initiative to demonstrate a commercial-off-the-shelf infrared aircraft maintenance troubleshooting aid and evaluate it against current methods as a useful tool in isolating various designated aircraft discrepancies. The initiative is being conducted to demonstrate the ability of infrared technology to increase the effectiveness of maintenance technicians to correctly diagnose an aircraft malfunction. In addition, the demonstration will assess the ability of the thermographic maintenance aid to decrease the overall time required for the troubleshooting process for designated aircraft discrepancies. Finally, the demonstration will assess the possibility of using thermographic technology in preventative maintenance applications. 2) SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS a) Two units with the following capabilities/characteristics: i) Easily mobile, handheld hardware, ii) Real time viewable screen that can be viewed on the job or downloaded for later use, iii) Software for downloading diagnostic information to a personal computer (Windows environment) for analysis. b) Additionally, it is desired that this COTS infrared thermographic equipment be capable of visually depicting discrepancies in the following aircraft systems on the hand-held unit: i) Electrical systems, ii) Environmental systems, iii) Hydraulic systems, iv) Propulsion systems, and v) Pitot/Static systems, Two Demonstrations will be required at locations/times TBD. Please note that a DUNS number and CCR registration is required to be considered for contract award. Please visit http://www.ccr.gov/ to register.
