Description
The Project Manager, Tactical Radio Communications System, International Network and Communications (PM TRCS INC) office has been requested by a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customer to investigate sources to enhance/replace their currently utilized Line Of Sight (LOS) communications network. The objective is to achieve equipment and operational performance that exceeds the equipment currently being utilized. Improvements are sought in the areas of capability, functionality, and cost. The LOS Networ k shall include switching functions and provide voice, data, and facsimile services. The technical requirements for the LOS Network System are: (1) UHF frequency environment (other frequency ranges will be considered); (2) Interoperability with the Improve d Mobile Subscriber Equipment (IMSE) System; and (3) Ability to interchange between mobile and fixed platforms. Utilization of Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) products is encouraged to the greatest degree possible. Responses must include equipment name, design concept, technical data, system characteristics, logistics support, testing and evaluation suppo rt, estimated lead-time form contract award to availability, and estimated cost. In addition, responses must provide country of equipment origin, manufacturer, and development status (e.g. NDI, prototype, in production, fully developed but not in producti on). Responses must also indicate whether the equipment or a variant thereof are in current use by the US military or a foreign military organization/government. All foreign organizations using the equipment or variant must be listed. All responses are required to be provided to PM TRCS NLT 27 May 2005. All vendors are requested to present a presentation to PM TRCS personnel prior to 17 June 2005. Presentations will not exceed two hours in length.
