- JOLIET JOB CORPS CENTER SCOPE OF WORK UNPROTECTED EGRESS STAIRWAYS Provide a continuous protected path of travel to exit at each of the four indicated stairways and sufficient lighted exit signs to clearly indicate that path. 1. The contractor shall remove section of masonry wall where indicated on drawing. 2. The contractor shall provide new masonry infill where indicated on drawing. New masonry infill to have 1.5 hour rated assembly. Match finish with existing adjacent wall finishes. 3. The contractor shall provide and install new doors per drawings. Doors to have ? hour fire rating. 4. New doors to have self-closing devices, hinges, magnetic hold-open devices and panic hardware conforming to egress door requirements. Provide new code compliant hold-open devices for existing egress doors leading from corridor into stairwells. 5. The contractor shall patch the floor where masonry wall has been removed to match existing floor. 6. The contractor shall repair the ceiling grid and replace ceiling tiles where affected due to removal of masonry wall and new construction to match existing ceiling. 7. The contractor shall coordinate new construction with existing lights, ceiling grilles, etc. 8. The contractor shall verify location and extent of demolition and repair required to accomplish the work. 9. Construction debris must be removed from the site, and the construction area must be secured to the Center?s satisfaction at the end of each day. 10. The contractor will coordinate with the Center Director and the Finance and Administration Director to ensure student training and Center operations are not disrupted during the construction process. 11. All work must meet the latest edition of Building Codes. 12 The contractor shall at all times abide by the Center?s rules and regulations. 13. The contractor will comply, as applicable, with the provisions of the Davis-Bacon Act, the Copeland Act, and the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act. 14. All materials, services and labor shall be warranted free for a period of one year. 15. The contractor shall test and demonstrate the proper functioning of the new doors and exit signs to the Center?s satisfaction. 16. The contractor will provide and maintain competent and adequate supervision at the construction site to ensure that the complete work conforms with the approved plans and specifications and will furnish progress reports and such other information as may be required by the Center. 17. The contractor will initiate and complete the work within the applicable time frame after receipt of approval of the Center. 18. The contractor will comply with all Federal statutes relating to non-discrimination. 19. The contractor will prepare and submit a complete set of plans for the installation of the egress system for Center review and approval. 20. Determine best time schedule for work to be done, regular work hours, after hours and/or weekend to be based upon the Center?s schedule. Drawings will be provided to interested contractors.
