- TO PROCURE A requirement for Air Force Research Laboratories, Human Effectiveness Directorate, Biosciences and Protection Division, Applied Biotechnology Branch, specifically Affymetrix GeneChip Rat Expression Arrays 230A and GeneChip Sample Cleanup Module Kits. NAICS: 541710, SIC: 2835, FSC: 6640, SIZE STANDARD 500 employees. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(2) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(i). This synopsis is being published for informational purposes only. The proposed source is Affymetrix Incorporated. The GeneChip Rat Expression Arrays 230A shall comply with the following requirements: ?The arrays must contain 30,248 transcripts, 28,757 genes, 31,042 probe sets and each probe set must contain 11 pairs/sequences The feature size must be 18mm The oligonucleotide probe length must be a 25-mer The arrays must contain the following hybridization controls: bioB, bioC, bioD and cre The arrays must contain the poly-A controls: dap, lys, phe and thr The arrays must contain a normalization control set of 100 probe sets The arrays must contain the following housekeeping/control genes: GAPDH, beta-Actin and hexokinase 1 The arrays must be high-density probe arrays The arrays must also be capable of performing quantitative and simultaneous monitoring of thousands of genes and EST?s The arrays must be able to be read/utilized by the Affymetrix GeneChip Scanner System The GeneChip Sample Cleanup Module Kits shall comply with the following requirements: ? The kits must contain the following: - 30 cDNA Cleanup Spin Columns - 20mL cDNA Binding Buffer - 6mL cDNA Wash Buffer concentrate - 15mL cDNA Elution Buffer - 30 IVT cRNA Cleanup Spin Columns - 18mL IVT cRNA Binding Buffer - 5mL IVT cRNA Wash Buffer concentrate - 3 x 1.2mL RNase-free water - 1mL 5X Fragmentation Buffer - 60 1.5mL Collection Tubes - 60 2mL Collection Tubes ? The kits must be able to: - Cleanup cDNA products after first and second strand cDNA synthesis - Cleanup cRNA biotin-labeled products after in vitro transcription (IVT) - Fragment cRNA products before hybridizing to GeneChip probe arrays This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, the government will consider any quotations received within 10 days of the issuance of this notice. The purpose of the sole source justification is to cover the open market portion. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
