- The Fort Myer Military Community, CID, is soliciting REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION (RFI) from potential industry sources to provide tents for investigative command posts in the event of a crisis (such as 9-11). The intent is to have a self-contained shel ter capable of support in a variety of environments/climates (here in the North Eastern United States) that can be transported in the back of a large SUV, deployed rapidly and easily done by 2-4 people. And be able to support environmental controls for hea t/AC, lighting and power, etc. The general specifications are as follows: 4 Door Variants, Steel Pins, Frame with pre-attached covers, Tent Cover, Ground Cover and flooring, Screen Windows with flaps, Screen doors, Ground stake loops and high winds lines, Interior Loops (for hanging items), Repair Kit, Illustrated instructions P anels, Push Polls, Transportation Bag, Can support electrical, heat, and Air systems Stand Temp -40F - 125F, 200-225 Square Feet USABLE Space, Must be portable and total weight between 149-178 lbs, Color: Army Green or Desert Brown, Can be used as a singl e stand-alone shelter or connected to other shelters, Must meet military soft shelter requirements for wind, rain, snow and blackout, Must have warranty for materials and workmanship, **This RFI is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal (RFP) or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any supply/items Additionally, the Government may utilize any information submitted by interested parties to assist in developing better specifications that could po tentially result in a competitive solicitation.. The Government prefers that no proprietary or confidential business data be submitted in response to this RFI. All information in response to the RFI, questions, suggestions, etc. and requests to be inform ed of the status of any possible solicitation resulting from this RFI shall be sent via email to sherry.carner@fmmc.army.mil. We prefer any attachments you use to be in Microsoft Work or Microsoft Excel. Hard copies of your responses to this RFI can be submitted to Fort Myer Military Community, Directorate of Contracting, 204 Lee Avenue, Bldg. 205, Room 213, Ft Myer, VA 22111. Responses should be received in this office no later than 12:00 am (EST) on 08 Jun 2005. Responses should include the name and telephone number of a point of contact having authority and knowledge to discuss responses with government representatives. All correspondence concerning this RFI should reference and refer to RFI No. W91QF7-05-T-0400. Lastly, we strongly encourage pot ential providers to use the information provided herein as reference information.
