Description
The purpose of this solicitation amendment notice is to: 1. Change the response date for the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation W15QKN-05-T- 137 from 3 June 2006 to 18 June 2005. 2. Change the following requirements: a. FROM: Acceleration/Decelertion-rate Progrmmable (Min: 900,000 deg/s2 TO: Deceleration rate Programmable (Min: 900,000 deg/s2) ??? Acceleration rate Programmable (Min: 10,000 deg/s2) b. FROM: Max Load Capacity (fuze only) 45 lbs TO: Max Load Capacity 10 lbs c. FROM Slip Rings 20 each@3 amps TO Slip Rings 4 @ 3 amps each ??? 16 at 0.5 amps each 3. Provide the following answers to questions received in response to this synopsis/solicitation: Question #1: We believe that this acceleration rate is not correct. To achieve this level would require an explosively driven device, such as in a cannon shell. It may be appropriate for deceleration, but at a much reduced value. Answer: The 900,000 deg/s2 is correct. Question #2: Max Load Capacity (fuze only) 45 lbs ??? We believe this value is much too high and is incorrect. The fuze, even if made from solid lead, would only weigh about 10 lbs. We would suggest a max load of 6-8 lbs. Answer: This is not the fuze weight itself. Other items besides fuzes will be attached to this. Question #3: Slip Rings 20 each @ 3 amps ??? We believe that a max current rating of 2 amps is more appropriate. Also, not every ring needs the full current value. We would suggest 4 each at 2 amps; 16 each at .5 amps. Answer: 4 slip rings at 3 amps each are required.
